Morning Smoothie - With Crunch!

Smoothie With Urban Hippie Granola

There are so many of us who make smoothies for breakfast. I also make them for dinner, and for a quick sweet snack. Recently  a friend of mine was on a weight loss mission and part of her instructed regime was to have a smoothie with granola in it! She stayed at my place for awhile and made me these smoothies every morning. I quickly became addicted. I like my smoothies to resemble ice cream as I'm kind of piggy. So I put a lot of ice in mine. If you want in more liquidy aka smoothie like, add more almond milk. Here's one of my favorite recipes.

Ingredients -

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • 3/4 cup of berries and bananas
  • 1 date (pitted)
  • 1/3 cup protein powder - You can leave this out if you want. I usually do.
  • 1/4 tsp of maca root powder
  • 1tsp of flax seeds
  • 1/8 cup of Urban Hippie Granola
  • 1/2 tsp of raw cocoa nibs

Blend first 7 ingredients in a high power blender. Top with granola and raw cocoa nibs. You'll satisfy any ice cream craving.

Alternatively, blend all 9 ingredients in a high speed blender.  Pour into glass.
